cúze [clay artist].
Each pristine, handmade piece by Berlin-based Japanese clay artist Cuzé contains oceanic sensations in its unique texture, shell-white color and half-smooth finish. He records in each work a slip of time with the waves, using his skill and his heart. Cuzé’s versatile craftsmanship and dedication to tradition is apparent in his signature modern twist of the tobikanna technique, which normally gives one the impression of constrained symmetry, to create irregular and one-of-a-kind ripple patterns on the natural white clay surface with the back of a small knife.
